Level 1


FISS Assistant Coach Qualification


In order to gain this qualification, the candidate must first attend the BRSF Level 1 Assistant Coach award, run by the British Roller Sports Federation.

This Level 1 qualification is a bolt on module, providing the coach with further information and skill sets to be able to coach inline speed skating at an Assistant Coach Level.


Minimum Age:           16 years old at the time of qualifying


An assistant coach must be supervised at all times by a Qualified Level 2, 3 or 4 coach.
An assistant roller speed coach must be supervised by a Qualified Level 2, 3 or 4 FISS Roller Speed Skating Coach.


A Level 1 assistant coach can coach up to 6 individuals on their own providing there is still supervision of a qualified Level 2 coach.


Supervision is defined by FISS as: In the same room as the Level 1 Coach, within voice distance and no more than 20 meters away. The Senior coach always be able to observe the Level 1 and in a situation where need be, the Level 2 can take over with little time delay.
